Börje Hagsten

Greetings All!

I talked with Börje Hagsten today for a while and I figured that I'd share the news. Several years ago he pulled away from the online world due to health and real life concerns. He is not programming; but, does hold fond memories of his time here. He is rarely on the internet and spends most of his time in semi-retirement caring for his farm as he must take it easy.

He accused me of teasing/tempting him to return to programming and though that was not my intention, hopefully a seed has been planted. He later mentioned that he might stop by the forums sometime. I asked him if he minded that we shared his code that he never explicitly posted as freeware and he adamantly stated that we could. I know that several folks have code that is not available on my site or through these forums.

I asked if he minded that I shared these thoughts with others and he did not mind. Out of respect for his wishes for privacy, I won't post his number; but, he did say that he did not mind if people mailed him at the address that is in the Info box of POFFS.

Likewise - I am very relieved that he is still with us - I beginning to wonder if he was still alive. His contribution here was outstanding and his tools (POFFS and Inclean) are in constant use in my programming efforts.

This is good news.

Very good news. Börje is a great programmer, but from some of his posts one of of the most reasonable fair minded individuals on this good earth !

This is the happiest news that I've heard in a long while. It is so nice to hear that Borje is alive and well and enjoying his retirement.

First Tom Hanlin returns and now word from Borje. It is so nice to hear from past members of this community. It's like hearing from a distant relative after many years.

So glad to hear he is alive and kicking. When he disappeared I thought the world had lost a good guy. Very glad to be wrong. Best of health to you Börje!!

Thanks for letting us know!
Before, I really feared that the worst had happened to Börje.
Glad to hear he is doing fine. Let's hope we wil 'see' him again soon on these forums.

Thank you very much, Don, for sharing this very good news with us!

I was also concerned about what might have happened, when he disappeared all of a sudden. Good to hear that he's doing well.

Hearing Börje is well is like hearing about a long lost family member. I was afraid from the long quiet that something bad may have happened to him and it is so brightening to hear he is alive, well, and enjoying life.

He was one of the most grounded people I knew on these boards. Selfishly it would always be great if he could return to us, but knowing he is doing great is welcome knowledge.

Bon Vie Börje!

I am so glad Börje is still around! A lot of my knowledge about programming using PB came from His examples and POFFS.
All the best Börje for the future!
